The Gefion Fountain

One of the most famous statues in Copenhagen is the Gefion Fountain.  The Fountain commemorates Danish usurpation of Swedish territory.  (The Danes really don't get along with the Swedes.  There is a whole history there).  The story goes that the Swedish king promised Gefion as much of Sweden as she could plow in a night.  So she changed her four sons into oxen and plowed up lots of Sweden.

I don't think the boys were happy about the way things turned out.

A giant, unattractive fellow that, I think, spits water when the fountain is turned on.
Jael examining a really, really large snake which also, I think, spits water.
There was water in the fountain but it wasn't on.  Probably because it was still getting below
freezing at night while we were there.  If you go to the Wikipedia page here, you can see a
picture of how neat the fountain looks when it is on and, also, a picture of the fountain being  built.
